USES

Suitable for properly prepared and compatible substrates in areas such as:

• Bakkie load bins and cargo areas;
• Vehicle chassis and underbody panels;
• Wheel arches and sills;
• Wing edges, front and rear aprons;
• Trailers, caravans and selected machinery panels.

Use on other surfaces only after checking adhesion and compatibility. Do not treat this coating as a substitute for structural rust repairs or an approved automotive corrosion-protection system.

STANDARD APPLICATION PROCEDURE

Correct surface preparation is essential for adhesion and durability. Test the coating on a small area before proceeding with the full application.

• Remove dirt, grease, oil, salt contamination and other substances that may prevent adhesion. Rinse and allow to dry thoroughly;
• Remove loose paint, scale and rust by appropriate mechanical preparation;
• Repair severely corroded metal before coating;
• Apply a suitable compatible anticorrosive primer to bare steel and other exposed metal, according to the primer manufacturer's instructions;
• Abrade sound existing coatings where necessary, then clean and test adhesion;
• Stir the product thoroughly before and during application;
• Apply even coats using suitable equipment. Avoid excessively thick applications that may trap moisture and delay drying;
• Allow each coat to dry sufficiently before recoating. Follow the current verified drying and recoating instructions;
• Allow the coating to cure before exposing the surface to abrasion, water or service conditions;
• Wash application tools with water immediately after use.

PRECAUTIONS

• Do not apply to brakes, exhaust systems, engine components, drive shafts, moving joints or other functional parts;
• Do not apply directly to untreated bare metal or contaminated or damp surfaces;
• Galvanised metal, plastics, fibreglass and other difficult substrates require a compatible preparation and priming system, plus an adhesion trial;
• Do not apply over loose, unstable or incompatible existing coatings, including untested bituminous coatings;
• Avoid application in rain, condensation, extreme heat or cold. Check surface temperature and weather conditions before use;
• Do not claim resistance to petrol, oils, solvents or salt spray without appropriate testing.

STORAGE

• Store tightly closed under cover, protected from frost, excessive heat and direct sunlight;
• Prevent contamination and keep containers sealed when not in use.

IMPORTANT

• The finished coating's performance depends on substrate condition, preparation, primer compatibility, application thickness, drying conditions and cure.
• A representative trial application is recommended before full-scale use. Confirm all quantitative technical claims against the latest quality-controlled product data.
• The ambient temperature must be between 10ºC and 35ºC and humidity between 10% and 85%;
• Do not apply too early as the surface may still be damp - apply only when the surface is dry;
• Do not apply in too hot weather, rather early morning and after lunch, the slower the product dries, the longer it lasts;
• Excessive application thickness and/or rapid drying could lead to cracking;
• Avoid applying under adverse weather conditions as this could result in poor product performance;
• Excessively friable surfaces should be cleaned down prior to application;
• Not recommended for over coating bitumen sealers.

SAFETY

• Always keep out of reach of children and animals;

• Do not take in orally - harmful if swallowed. Seek medical attention and do not induce vomiting;

• If accidental contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice;

• Ventilate the area to be painted, opening all doors and windows and using fans during application and drying;

• Protect floors with cloth Drop Cloths, not plastic, which is far more slippery;

• Make sure your ladder is in good shape. Set the legs on an even surface and lock the cross braces. Do not stand on the top of the ladder or on the utility shelf. If you are having difficulty reaching a spot, get down from the ladder and move it rather than leaning out;

• Clean up carefully and thoroughly when you are done for the day.
