Classic Industrial Degreaser and Engine Cleaner is a solvent based heavy duty product which can be applied by brush or spray application and pressure washed with water.


DESCRIPTION

Heavy duty solvent based, specially developed for removing any oil, shutter release oil, engine oil, de-greaser for interior and exterior engine and machine parts, workshop floors, paving and drive ways.


USES

STANDARD APPLICATION PROCEDURE

  1. Do not dilute, use as is;

  2. Ready for use with Brush, Garden Sprayer or High Pressure Sprayer;

  3. Do not mix contents with any other chemicals or water;

  4. Spray over engine, parts, floors or paving with a trigger spray and allow 3 - 15 minutes contact time;

  5. Clean engine / parts with a brush, surfaces with a stiff broom or brush;

  6. Or submerge parts in a soak-tank filled with Classic Engine Cleaner and Multi-Purpose Degreaser™;

  7. Rinse with water under high pressure;

  8. EQUIPMENT CLEANING – Water.


ENGINE CLEANING TIPS

  1. Engine must be off and cool;

  2. Cover distributor, electronic components, carburettor and air intake systems as necessary;

  3. Care must be taken with all under hood wire looms and electronic components Minimize rinse water which can cause performance problems;

  4. Exposed electrical conductors (cracked or frayed wires or EC unit) can short circuit;

  5. Apply or spray generously on dry engine;

  6. Wipe any overspray from exterior body surfaces with a wet cloth at once to avoid dewaxing or streaking paint;

  7. Allow product to soak for about 3 - 15 minutes - Brush unusually heavy deposits;

  8. Pressure wash with water from top downwards;

  9. Start engine immediately and idle 15 minutes or until dry to assure complete.


FLOOR CLEANING TIPS

Oil stains spoil the appearance of paving, concrete and garage floors and can be a slip hazard. Always remove oil stains as soon as possible or it will become more embedded and difficult to remove.

  1. Classic Engine Cleaner and Multi-Purpose Degreaser™ breaks up oil and grease;

  2. If the oil stain is fresh, just spray it with Classic Engine Cleaner and Multi-Purpose Degreaser™, wait a few minutes and pressure spray it off with water;

  3. Do not allow the product to run outside of the oil stain as this will increase the size of the surface to be cleaned;

  4. If the oils stain is mature or saturated, apply a generous amount of Classic Engine Cleaner and Multi-Purpose Degreaser™, covering the entire spot. Let the product sit for about 15 minutes, then use a wire scrub brush or hard bristle broom and clean the stain in a circular motion;

  5. Then apply another coat of Classic Engine Cleaner and Multi-Purpose Degreaser™, wait a few more minutes;

  6. Pressure wash with water, let dry and repeat if necessary;

  7. Once the stain is removed, your surface could stain again, rather seal it with Classic Clear Sealer™ or paint it with Classic Super Floor and Paving™.


IMPORTANT

Classic Engine Cleaner and Multi-Purpose Degreaser™ is a solvent based heavy duty product which can be applied to most surfaces. It is however a good practise to always test a little amount on small surfaces if uncertain before applying to whole area.

  1. Use with adequate ventilation;

  2. Do not use on plastic or painted surfaces without pre-testing;

  3. Do not use in septic systems;

  4. Do not apply in presence of smoking, sparks, flame, or fire.


STORAGE AND DISPOSAL

  1. Store in a cool, dry well-ventilated area away from oxidizers and ignition sources;

  2. Keep out of direct sunlight or any sources of heat and fire at all times;

  3. Do not expose contents or put container in contact with heat, sparks, or open flame.


SAFEGUARD OUR ENVIRONMENT

  1. The residue resulting from the removal of petroleum oils and greases is considered a hazardous waste;

  2. The use of this product to clean engines produces a hazardous waste that cannot be discharged into any waterway;

  3. Disposal of contaminated rinse water into watercourses, sewers, or on the ground is prohibited by law;

  4. Proper disposal includes collecting and evaporating rinse water and/or recycling and disposal of residues;

  5. Rinse the empty container with water and re-use or dispose to wastebin.


HEALTH AND SAFETY

  1. Using the product is a relatively user-friendly activity if the proper precautions are taken to ensure safety;

  2. It is advisable to wear gloves as skin irritation could occur with prolonged exposure;

  3. Do not take in orally - harmful if swallowed. Seek medical attention and do not induce vomiting;

  4. If accidental contact with skin, wash immediately with soap and water or a good quality skin cleaner;

  5. Wear a respirator if the area being treated cannot be adequately ventilated, and work for short periods only;

  7. Ventilate the area to be treated, opening all doors and windows and using fans during application and drying;

  8. Always keep out of reach of children and animals.


PRODUCT DATA

All above technical data is based on experience with CLASSIC ENGINE CLEANER AND MULTI-PURPOSE DEGREASER™. The quantity required depends on condition of the surface to be cleaned and the manner in which the product is applied and used.

  1. TYPE - Solvent - Flammable liquid and vapour.;

  2. SECOND OR MORE APPLICATIONS – after previous is washed clean, wait until air dry and then wash again;

  3. VISCOSITY - < 2 mm2/s @ 40 °C;

  4. INGREDIENTS - Toluene, Xylene, n-Hexane, Ethylbenzene and Colourants;

  5. FIRE EXTINGUISHING MEDIA - Carbon dioxide, foam, dry chemical and water fog;

  6. FIRE FIGHTING PROCEDURE - Water spray should only be used to keep fire-exposed containers cool, flush spills away

  7. from exposures, disperse vapours and protect personnel attempting to stop leak. Prevent runoff from fire control or dilution from entering streams, municipal sewers, or drinking water supply;
  8. FLASHPOINT - < 0º;

  9. TRANSPORT - Flammable Liquid. Contains Light Aliphatic Petroleum Solvent;

  10. COLOUR - Red;

  11. PACKAGING - 500ml, 1Liter Jerry Cans and 5Liter Jerry Cans.
