STANDARD APPLICATION PROCEDURE

A. IRON & CAST IRON SURFACES

  • Application Instructions for CLASSIC RUST - RAID™ on Iron & Cast-Iron Surfaces.

  • Remove loose surface rust using manual or machine wire brushing. Fragment or brush all corroded areas with sandpaper or a wire brush. Apply the CLASSIC RUST - RAID™ directly to the rusted areas. Chemical action starts immediately.

  • Surfaces exposed to salt air, use a nylon brush to remove all deposits, then rinse thoroughly with fresh water.

  • Eliminate any grease, oil, or sanding residue using CLASSIC RUST - RAID™, followed by a thorough rinse with fresh water.

  • Apply one coat of CLASSIC AQUAPRIME™ and allow it to dry for 4-8 hours.

  • If needed, apply a second coat of CLASSIC AQUAPRIME™ after the appropriate drying time.

  • Apply two finishing coats of CLASSIC SUPERROOF™ over the dried CLASSIC AQUAPRIME™.

B. NEW GALVANIZED IRON SURFACES

  • Wash the surface thoroughly with CLASSIC RUST - RAID™.

  • Rinse completely with fresh water and buff dry using a clean rag.

  • Do not sand down the surface, as this can damage the galvanizing.

  • Apply one coat of CLASSIC AQUAPRIME™.

  • Allow to dry for 6 to 8 hours before applying a second coat of AQUAPRIME™ if necessary.

  • After priming, apply CLASSIC ROOF PROOF™ and/or membrane to all water leaks, flashings, and screw tops.

  • Finally, apply two finishing coats of CLASSIC SUPERROOF™ over the correctly dried surfaces

C. TREATMENT FOR WEATHERED GALVANIZED IRON SURFACES

Surfaces that have experienced at least one year of natural weathering, the same treatment as outlined in IRON AND CAST- IRON SURFACES must be followed.

D. ALUMINUM/CHROME

Apply the remover to wet surface. Allow time to clean, then rinse away with clean water and buff dry with a clean rag.

E. BATHROOM/SHOWER/TOILET CLEANER

CLASSIC RUST - RAID™ effectively tackles calcium, lime, and hard water stains on various surfaces like porcelain, tile, fiberglass, and glass. To use, simply spray it directly onto the stained area and let it sit for 5 minutes. For enhanced effectiveness, agitate with a brush before rinsing thoroughly with water. Enjoy a cleaner, stain-free surface!

Aqua-Prime is a priming compound. For optimum results two finishing coats is recommended over two applications of Aqua-Prime. Any standard commercial type of topcoat, such as Econogloss, Satin Sheen, Classic Roof Proof™, Classic Super Roof™, Classic One on All™, Quick-Dry Enamel, Vinyl, Epoxy, Epoxy Coat Tar, Polyurethane, Chlorinated Rubber and Lacquer are suitable finishing coats.

PRECAUTIONS

Wear protective gloves, googles and a mask when using chemicals. Do not mix with other chemicals.

IMPORTANT

  • The ambient temperature must be between 15ºC and 35ºC and humidity between 10% and 50%.

  • Do not allow CLASSIC RUST - RAID™ to dry on painted surfaces.

  • Do not paint in too hot weather, rather paint early morning and after lunch, the slower the paint dries, the longer it lasts.

  • Avoid applying under adverse weather conditions as this could result in poor product performance.

SAFETY

CAUTION! Contains Phosphoric Acid and other Proprietary Ingredients. Severe eye and skin irritant.

Painting is a relatively user-friendly activity if the proper precautions are taken to ensure safety.

  • If accidental contact with skin, wash immediately with soap and water or a good quality skin cleaner.

  • If accidental contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice.

  • Do not take in orally - harmful if swallowed. Seek medical attention and do not induce vomiting.

  • Do not let a freshly painted room be occupied, particularly not by older people, children, or pets.

  • Ventilate the area to be painted, opening all doors, windows and using fans during application and drying.

  • Protect floors with cloth drop cloths, not plastic, which is far more slippery.

  • Make sure your ladder is in good shape. Set the legs on an even surface and lock the cross braces. Do not stand on the top of the ladder nor on the utility shelf. If you are having difficulty reaching a spot, get down from the ladder and move it rather than leaning out.

  • If rags have alkyd paint or thinner on them, leave them to dry outside to avoid any chance of spontaneous combustion.

  • Choose an area inaccessible to children and pets, and when they are thoroughly dry, take them to a toxic-waste dump site.
